Thank You for Your Application launches on Steam for $16.99

The story-driven interview simulation game Thank You for Your Application officially launched on Steam on June 19, 2026, at 8:00 AM EDT. Set in the distant future within Aeropolis City, the title tasks players with veting candidates for the city’s largest corporation.

After failing 15 rounds of interviews themselves, players are ironically hired as junior interviewers to screen others. The game debuted with a 15% discount, bringing the price to $16.99 USD for the first two weeks of release.

The gameplay revolves around reviewing resumes and issuing “thank you” letters based on strict, ever-changing hiring requirements. It functions similarly to the documentary-thriller “Papers, Please,” but swaps border control for a corporate HR department. This transition from applicant to gatekeeper serves as a vehicle for the game’s core themes.

Simulating the corporate interview process in Aeropolis

It tackles the shame of unemployment, workplace discipline, and efficiency-first thinking in a world where corporate policy can shift instantly, altering the lives of individual applicants.

Players must navigate an absurd corporate system that often prioritizes technical metrics over human empathy. As you progress, the narrative unfolds through multiple endings, revealing dark secrets buried within the company’s architecture. Much like how technical resistance levels define market boundaries, the rigid hiring mandates in Aeropolis act as the primary obstacles players must manage or subvert.

As a junior interviewer, your primary responsibility is the meticulous screening of applicant documents. You are looking for inconsistencies in work history or prohibited traits while adhering to mandates from upper management.

These rules are rarely static, and a candidate who met all criteria one day might be disqualified the next due to a policy update. The pressure to meet quotas creates a tense environment where every “thank you” letter sent carries significant weight for the character receiving it.

The game explores discrimination against outsiders and the systemic hurdles present in high-pressure workplace cultures. By placing the player in the role of the judge, it forces a confrontation with the morality of “efficiency-first” logic.

Every resume represents a life within the city of Aeropolis, and your desk is the final barrier between them and employment. This focus on systemic pressure mirrors real-world environments where macro warning signs can dictate the fortunes of many individuals at once.

Beyond simple paperwork, the simulation includes elements of resource management and social interaction. Players have to manage their own living situation, including dealing with a landlord character in the game. This adds a layer of personal survival to the professional tasks at hand.

Failure to comply with the corporation’s demands could lead to the player becoming just another desperate resume in a folder, highlighting the precarious nature of employment in this futuristic dystopia.

Steam launch pricing and community technical reports

The game arrived on Steam with significant momentum, having surpassed 100,000 wishlists since development began in 2024. To celebrate the launch, several bundles are available with a 10% discount. These include the “FACE Your Application BUNDLE,” “Thank You For Your Headlines BUNDLE,” and “Behold! An Application! BUNDLE.”

For those unsure about the full experience, a free demo remains available on the Steam storefront to test the mechanics before purchasing.

While the game was a featured INDIE Waves selection at the Indie Live Expo on April 25, the initial launch has faced some technical hurdles. Early adopters in the Steam community have reported several bugs that impact the experience. Some players have found themselves unable to progress past the first week of game time. Other reported issues include:

  • Repetitive dialogue loops with the landlord character that stall narrative progress.
  • Total game freezing during certain gameplay sequences.
  • Technical errors in the “Odd Jobs” window that prevent the list from rerolling properly.

Maintaining high standards for stability is critical for indie titles in a crowded market. Just as users expect transparency and reliability from digital service platforms, Steam players look for rapid responses to post-launch bugs. These technical setbacks are being monitored as the community begins to explore the different narrative paths and endings the game offers.

MacOS system requirements and software compatibility

The game features relatively low system requirements to ensure accessibility for various hardware setups. For Mac users, the title requires macOS 10.15 Catalina or later. It supports both Intel Core i5 and Apple Silicon processors, allowing it to run on more recent MacBook and iMac models.

Minimal memory requirements are set at 4 GB of RAM, with only 2 GB of available storage space needed to install the game.

On the graphics side, Intel Iris Graphics or Apple Silicon integrated graphics are sufficient to run the simulation. This allows the game to reach a wider audience of players who may not have high-end gaming rigs. The focus remains on the story-driven experience rather than high-fidelity visual effects.

This accessibility is a key part of the game’s strategy to convert its large wishlist numbers into an active player base during its first two weeks on sale.

Thank You for Your Application attempts to bridge the gap between simple simulation and deep social critique. By immersing players in the mundane yet high-stakes world of hiring, it offers a unique lens on modern labor issues.

Whether players choose to be the perfect corporate tool or a subversive force will determine which of the multiple endings they eventually reach in the depths of Aeropolis City.
