Zoomex Card launches: bringing crypto holdings to everyday spending

Global cryptocurrency trading platform Zoomex officially launched its multi-currency virtual Mastercard, the Zoomex Card, on March 9, 2026. This new offering allows users to convert digital assets directly into fiat for everyday purchases, marking a significant step in bridging the gap between the crypto economy and traditional finance. Developed in partnership with UR, a fully regulated financial platform, the initiative aims to simplify crypto spending.

Zoomex CEO Jerry Hsu and UR Chief Product Officer Ng Yingzhong have both emphasized the card’s role in creating a more integrated financial experience for users. It represents a clear expansion for Zoomex beyond its core trading business. This move targets its more than three million users across over 35 countries and regions.

The Zoomex Card: bridging digital assets and daily transactions

The Zoomex Card functions by enabling users to deposit USDC stablecoins into their dedicated UR accounts. From there, these digital assets can be exchanged into several supported fiat currencies, ready for immediate use. Supported currencies include U.S. dollars (USD), euros (EUR), Swiss francs (CHF), Japanese yen (JPY), Singapore dollars (SGD), and Hong Kong dollars (HKD).

This virtual card integrates seamlessly with major mobile payment platforms like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. Users can therefore make online purchases and in-app payments with ease, turning their crypto balances into real-world purchasing power. Funds are also transferable back to the Zoomex trading platform if users opt to return to the market.

Getting a Zoomex Card involves linking a Zoomex account and completing identity verification through UR. This Know Your Customer (KYC) process is crucial for regulatory compliance. It helps the platform adhere to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) regulations.

Ensuring compliance and user security

Security and compliance underpin the entire operation of the Zoomex Card. UR, which handles the card’s asset custody, operates under strict Swiss regulatory oversight. This provides a robust and secure financial infrastructure for users.

Zoomex has consistently highlighted its comprehensive security architecture, outlining how it protects user funds within its CEX security framework. The platform holds various registrations and licenses across multiple jurisdictions. These include U.S. MSB, Canada MSB, U.S. NFA, and Australia AUSTRAC, which are vital for a product intended for global use.

A strategic move in a competitive market

The launch of the Zoomex Card reflects a broader strategic expansion for the digital asset exchange, moving beyond its traditional spot and derivatives trading offerings. This initiative aligns with Zoomex’s ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive ecosystem. The platform has previously engaged in ventures like its Predict Market and a high-profile partnership with the TGR Haas F1 team.

This move positions Zoomex alongside other major players in the crypto card space, such as Coinbase and Bitget Wallet, who also offer similar crypto-linked cards. The increasing demand for such products is evident in market trends; over $2 billion was spent on crypto cards as of July 2026. This marks a substantial increase from just $100 million a year prior.

Mastercard plays a pivotal role in this evolving landscape, having launched its Crypto Partner Program in March 2026. This program connects numerous crypto-native companies and financial institutions, aiming to integrate blockchain payments into mainstream finance. The focus remains on converting crypto to fiat before transactions hit the Mastercard network, ensuring compatibility with existing payment rails and fostering wider adoption.

Outlook for crypto payment solutions and wider adoption

The introduction of products like the Zoomex Card signals a maturing cryptocurrency market where practical utility is gaining equal importance with trading opportunities. Stablecoins, particularly USDC, are proving essential in this transition due to their relative price stability. This characteristic makes them highly suitable for everyday transactions, unlike more volatile digital assets.

As regulatory frameworks, such as the EU’s MiCA regulation, continue to develop and offer clearer guidelines, crypto payment adoption is expected to accelerate. This will likely lead to greater integration of digital assets into global payment systems. Such developments ensure cryptocurrencies function not just as speculative investments but as practical tools for financial management.

Ultimately, the Zoomex Card aims to simplify the user experience by offering an integrated account that seamlessly blends crypto and traditional finance. This approach significantly reduces the friction traditionally associated with using digital assets for daily payments. It enables consumers to effortlessly leverage their crypto holdings for routine expenses, reinforcing Zoomex’s vision for a transparent and accessible financial ecosystem.
