The crypto market is heading into a busy week for token unlocks, with more than $900 million worth of new supply expected to hit the market during the fourth week of September.
Among the biggest releases are Plasma (XPL), Humanity (H), and SoSoValue (SOSO). Each unlock has a different structure, but all could add another source of short-term volatility as previously restricted tokens become available.
For traders and crypto watchers, the dates are worth keeping on the calendar.
Three token unlocks putting new supply into play
Plasma is first on the list with its September 25 unlock. The Layer 1 blockchain, designed around faster and more efficient stablecoin transactions, is preparing to release 1.76 billion XPL tokens.
That tranche is valued at about $159.91 million and represents 63.2% of Plasma’s released supply. The project has a maximum supply of 10 billion XPL, while 2.78 billion tokens have been released so far.
The distribution is split primarily between investors and the team. Each group will receive 833.33 million XPL, while another 88.89 million tokens will go toward ecosystem and growth initiatives.
Plasma’s focus is stablecoin infrastructure. Its network supports zero-fee USDT transfers, custom gas tokens, confidential payments, and the transaction capacity needed for large-scale use.
That makes the timing of its unlock particularly notable. A large volume of previously restricted tokens is entering circulation at once, adding a fresh variable to the market around a project built for high-volume stablecoin activity.
Humanity is also scheduled for a September 25 release, although the numbers are considerably smaller.
The protocol will unlock 266.47 million H tokens, worth roughly $19.3 million. The release represents 7.34% of Humanity’s current released supply of 3.63 billion tokens, against a total supply of 10 billion H.
Humanity uses palm biometrics, zero-knowledge proofs, and blockchain technology to verify that users are real people without exposing their personal information. Its system includes a native Proof of Humanity consensus mechanism.
The new H tokens will be divided across six allocations. Early contributors receive the largest portion, with 79.17 million H, followed by investors with 55.56 million.
The ecosystem fund gets 50 million H, while 42.86 million tokens are allocated to identity-verification rewards. The Human Institute strategic reserve receives 26.39 million H, and the foundation operations treasury gets 12.50 million.
Token unlocks bring different kinds of supply pressure
The third major release arrives a day earlier, on September 24, when SoSoValue unlocks 23.46 million SOSO tokens.
The tranche is worth approximately $6.97 million and represents 5.97% of SoSoValue’s released supply. The platform has released 393.12 million SOSO out of a total supply of 1 billion.
SoSoValue is a crypto data and research platform covering areas including ETF flows, market indicators, funding rounds, and project analytics. Its SSI product provides an on-chain index, while SOSO functions as an ERC-20 token used for governance and access to SSI.
Core contributors and investors will receive equal portions of the unlock, with 9.17 million SOSO going to each group. The ecosystem and airdrop allocation receives 2.58 million, while the foundation gets 1.58 million.
Partners receive the smallest allocation, at 972,220 SOSO.
Beyond these three releases, other token unlocks on the radar for the fourth week of September include STBL (STBL), River (RIVER), and Space ID (ID), adding to the broader wave of new supply entering the market.
Token unlocks do not all carry the same size, structure, or destination. In these cases, the amounts range from thousands of tokens to billions, with distributions flowing to investors, teams, contributors, treasuries, ecosystems, and other designated groups.
That makes the calendar more than a list of dates. It is a snapshot of when large pools of previously locked crypto become available—and another factor for market participants tracking short-term price movements.
