Cantor Fitzgerald guides AMINA Bank toward potential public listing

AMINA Bank, a FINMA-licensed Swiss digital asset bank, has tapped Wall Street financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald to advise on options for a potential public listing. The move, reported on July 27, 2026, underscores AMINA’s immediate focus on securing strategic growth capital, although no final decision has been made on the precise path to public markets.

This advisory engagement with Cantor Fitzgerald marks a notable step for the Zug-based bank as it seeks to expand its global operations and client base. It also highlights the continued appetite for crypto-focused entities to access broader capital markets, despite recent volatility impacting post-listing performance for some industry peers.

Swiss Bank Seeks Strategic Growth Capital

Founded in 2018 as SEBA Bank before rebranding to AMINA in 2023, the institution has positioned itself as one of a select few regulated banks specializing in digital assets. It offers a comprehensive suite of services, including crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending for institutional and professional investors.

The bank has demonstrated considerable growth, reporting a 69% revenue increase in 2024. By the end of 2025, AMINA Bank held approximately CHF 74.6 million ($91 million) in Tier 1 capital, a key measure of a bank’s financial strength. To date, it has successfully raised about $245 million from notable investors such as Julius Baer, DeFi Technologies, and BlackRiver Asset Management.

AMINA’s strategic expansion includes establishing regulated hubs in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, and India, extending its reach beyond its Swiss origins. The bank also made headlines in May 2026 when it became the first regulated bank to support trading and custody for Canton Coin.

Navigating Diverse Public Listing Routes

While an AMINA Bank public listing is the ultimate goal, the bank is carefully considering its options. Initial explorations included a traditional Initial Public Offering (IPO) and a merger with a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC).

More recently, reports suggested the bank favored a reverse takeover of a digital asset treasury company (DAT). However, an AMINA spokesperson clarified that while discussions are ongoing with potential investors, the bank is not currently negotiating with any SPACs or DATs.

The spokesperson emphasized that the primary concern is securing strategic growth capital, with an IPO being a potential “logical next step in the future.” Cantor Fitzgerald, for its part, declined to comment on the advisory engagement, maintaining confidentiality around the private talks.

Cantor Fitzgerald Deepens Crypto Involvement

Cantor Fitzgerald’s role as an advisor to AMINA Bank is consistent with its broader strategy to establish itself as a key player in the blockchain and digital asset capital markets. The global financial services firm has been steadily building out its crypto-related business lines over the past few years.

In July 2026, Cantor Fitzgerald partnered with Securitize to facilitate on-chain IPOs and offerings for public companies. This initiative aims to leverage blockchain technology for traditional capital raises, signaling a long-term commitment to the digital asset space.

The firm also launched a Bitcoin financing business in July 2024, allocating an initial $2 billion to provide leverage to Bitcoin holders. For this venture, Cantor selected Anchorage Digital as its custodian and collateral manager, showcasing its reliance on established crypto infrastructure.

Further demonstrating its belief in the sector, Cantor Fitzgerald acquired a 5% stake in Tether in November 2024, an investment valued at up to $600 million. These strategic moves underscore Cantor’s intent to be at the forefront of crypto finance, advising on everything from tokenized assets to traditional public listings for digital asset firms.

The Broader Landscape of Crypto Public Offerings

AMINA Bank joins a growing roster of crypto companies that have either gone public or are exploring public market access. The past year has seen a significant wave of listings, including firms like Circle Internet (CRCL), CoinDesk’s owner Bullish (BLSH), Gemini Space Station (GEMI), BitGo (BTGO), and Figure (FIGR).

However, the performance of these listings hasn’t been uniformly positive. Many have experienced uneven results post-debut, influenced by volatile crypto prices, a general slowdown in trading activity, and a broader risk-off sentiment across global markets. This challenging environment has prompted some major players to recalibrate their plans.

Several prominent crypto firms, including Kraken parent Payward, Ethereum app builder Consensys, wallet provider Ledger, and asset manager Grayscale, have publicly delayed their IPO intentions. They’re waiting for more favorable market conditions to ensure a successful public debut, which makes AMINA’s active pursuit of a listing particularly noteworthy.

AMINA’s determination, despite market headwinds, suggests a strong belief in its regulated business model and growth trajectory. Its careful consideration of listing methods, prioritizing strategic capital over speed, indicates a pragmatic approach to navigating the complexities of public markets in the crypto industry.
