Solana tokens are multiplying at a pace the network has never seen before. More than 263,000 new Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens were minted on Wednesday, setting a record for daily issuance and comfortably surpassing the peak of the late-2024 memecoin frenzy.
The number comes from Solscan, which tracks activity on the Solana blockchain. For context, the network was producing roughly 40,000 to 50,000 tokens per day at the height of the memecoin cycle in December 2024.
This time, the number is more than five times larger.
That does not mean 263,000 new memecoins suddenly found traders. SPL is Solana’s token standard, and the daily figure covers tokens minted across the network. A much smaller portion came through launchpads, the platforms that make it easy for creators to spin up and trade new tokens without much technical know-how.
Of the 40,360 tokens issued through launchpads, 34,184 came from Pump.fun, according to Blockworks’ dashboard. The memecoin platform therefore accounted for the overwhelming majority of launchpad activity recorded in the period.
Solana tokens are turning the blockchain into a minting machine
Launchpads have helped make token creation feel less like software development and more like publishing a post. They streamline the process of creating a coin, launching it and connecting it to liquidity, lowering the technical barriers for anyone who wants to put a new asset into circulation.
Pump.fun remains the biggest name in that economy. According to DefiLlama, the Solana-native protocol generated $1.8 million in revenue over the previous 24 hours, making it the network’s leading protocol by daily revenue.
But its position is not completely untouchable. Last Friday, trading app Fomo briefly generated more daily revenue than Pump.fun. Fomo mixes crypto trading with social features designed to resemble a social media feed, adding another layer to Solana’s increasingly social trading culture.
The record in Solana tokens also arrives after a period in which memecoin enthusiasm had cooled from its earlier peak. Yet the infrastructure built around rapid-fire token creation is still producing enormous volumes.
Pump.fun alone generated $124 million in the first quarter of 2026, representing about one-third of Solana’s total revenue of $342 million during the quarter.
That makes the latest issuance record more than a curiosity about numbers. It shows how much of Solana’s activity is tied to an internet-native model of creation where launching an asset can be fast, cheap and almost frictionless.
For now, the blockchain’s new record is less about any single token than the sheer scale of the minting machine behind them. Solana tokens are being created at a rate that would have looked extraordinary during the previous memecoin boom — and the system producing them is still expanding.
