Monad (MON) surges 12% as TVL hits $2.677 billion

Monad (MON) has surged over 12% in the last 24 hours, with its Total Value Locked (TVL) hitting an impressive $2.677 billion. This significant jump positions the altcoin firmly among the top blockchains based on its Decentralized Exchange (DEX) volume. The recent performance suggests a strong reversal for MON, which had been trading within a confined range for months.

This rapid expansion in network activity follows a period of stagnation and indicates renewed investor interest. The question now for many market participants is whether Monad can sustain this momentum and overcome key resistance levels to reclaim its previous 2026 highs.

Monad TVL surge bolsters DEX ranking

Monad’s network activity has climbed substantially since mid-July, particularly in its DEX volume. The blockchain reported a daily DEX volume of $191.77 million, securing its place among the top 10 major ecosystems.

This daily figure contributed to a weekly sum of $595 million, with the monthly total surpassing $1.80 billion. These numbers place Monad alongside established networks like Solana (SOL), Ethereum (ETH), Base, BNB Chain, and Hyperliquid (HYPE) in terms of market participation.

TVL and liquidity metrics show rapid expansion

The growth in Monad’s Total Value Locked is perhaps its most compelling recent metric. The TVL has more than doubled in just one month, climbing from $1.205 billion to $2.677 billion. This substantial increase underscores a significant inflow of capital and user trust into the platform.

Beyond TVL, the chain’s stablecoin market capitalization has also shown robust growth. It expanded from $482 million to $703 million over the past month, further indicating increased liquidity and financial stability within the ecosystem. This suggests users are actively deploying capital on the Monad network.

The consistent growth in these metrics often signals underlying strength and utility, attracting more participants to the network. This influx of activity is a critical factor for any emerging blockchain looking to carve out a larger market share.

Monad Labs, the company that developed the blockchain, founded in 2022, rebranded to Category Labs in December 2024 to focus on engineering. This strategic shift has allowed the Monad Foundation to handle other ecosystem aspects, potentially streamlining development and governance.

Rising user engagement and reduced capital outflows

Active addresses and transaction counts on the Monad network have returned to levels last seen in mid-July. The blockchain registered 23.83K active addresses, alongside more than 6.23 million transactions. These figures reflect a resurgence in user engagement and operational throughput.

Additionally, capital outflows from the network have significantly reduced. They decreased by more than half, falling from approximately $17 million to $8.40 million. While this still indicates some selling pressure, the reduction suggests a decrease in the velocity of tokens leaving the ecosystem, which could benefit price stability.

This dynamic signals a strengthening hold on its user base and capital. For instance, reports previously noted that early liquidity program participants had rejected certain proposals, highlighting ongoing community dynamics that influence network health.

Navigating price resistance and bullish market structure

From a technical perspective, Monad’s price action recently broke out of a two-and-a-half-month period of stagnation. During this time, MON traded between $0.01911 and $0.02424. The current price is also trading above its Parabolic Sar, a technical indicator often used to identify trend direction and potential reversals, reinforcing this breakout.

Despite these positive indicators, the altcoin still faces a significant hurdle at the $0.03 resistance level. Successfully breaching this point could pave the way for a more substantial rally, potentially mimicking or exceeding its uptrend from April. However, failure to do so might see MON retest the $0.02434 breakout zone.

The market structure currently leans bullish, supported by MON surging from a key demand zone that previously led to its year’s peak value of $0.038. This bullish outlook remains valid as long as the price maintains above the $0.02434 mark.

Further, institutional participation in the broader crypto market, as evidenced by institutional demand for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, can create a favorable environment for altcoins like Monad.

Selling pressure has also seen a dramatic decline, according to the Accumulation/Distribution indicator. It dropped sharply from 867.67 million tokens to just 15.84 million MON. This reduction suggests that the market is becoming less saturated with tokens available for immediate sale, potentially reducing downward price pressure.

Monad’s architectural advantage and scalability

Monad was designed as a high-performance, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible Layer 1 blockchain. Its primary goal is to address the scalability limitations inherent in many existing networks. It aims to achieve significantly higher transaction throughput and faster finality, which are crucial for attracting and retaining users and developers.

The project was founded by individuals with extensive experience in high-frequency trading (HFT), including Keone Hon, the CEO of Monad Labs. His background at Jump Trading, where he led an HFT team, directly influenced Monad’s architectural design. This expertise is geared towards optimizing the network for speed and efficiency.

This focus on core performance metrics resonates with a market always seeking faster, cheaper alternatives. As the broader crypto market watches Bitcoin price surges and corrections, the demand for robust underlying infrastructure remains constant. Monad’s foundational design provides a competitive edge in a crowded altcoin landscape.

Outlook for sustained growth

Monad’s recent performance indicates a robust period of growth driven by increased network activity and a more favorable technical posture. The doubling of TVL and stablecoin market cap, coupled with rising active addresses, paints a picture of a flourishing ecosystem. These metrics are critical indicators of a platform’s health and adoption.

However, the immediate challenge remains the $0.03 resistance level. Overcoming this could unlock further upside potential, though any failure might trigger a retest of lower support zones. Investors and users will be closely watching whether this renewed enthusiasm translates into sustained price appreciation and continued ecosystem development.

The altcoin market thrives on innovation and efficiency, and Monad’s architectural approach positions it well for long-term relevance. Its ability to process transactions quickly and maintain EVM compatibility appeals to a wide range of decentralized applications and users. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining if Monad can cement its place among the top performers in the altcoin space.
